Hillcroft Football Agreement 2023-24
Safety rules-
● No slide tackling
● No offside rule
● No headers
● No foul play
● No inappropriate language Organisation-
● Lunchtime- Monday to Thursday (No football Friday)
● Maximum 7 a-side
● Two year groups per day
● One member of staff to act as ‘referee’
● Teams are decided randomly
● Team bibs must be worn
● Game stops on the 1st whistle to signal the end of lunch
● All behaviour consequences are linked to our behaviour chart and behaviour policy
AS A PLAYER I WILL:
• Always play to the best of my ability and for the benefit of the team
• Play fairly – I won’t cheat, dive, complain or waste time
• Respect my team mates, the other team, and the adults
• Play by the rules, as directed by the adults
• Be gracious in victory and defeat
• Listen and respond appropriately to what the adult tells me
• Understand that the adult has to do what is best for the team and not one individual player
• Talk to someone I trust if I’m unhappy about anything during a game
I understand that if I do not follow the agreement, any or all of the following, actions may be taken by an adult:
I MAY, in line with our behaviour policy:
• Be required to apologise to my team mates, the other team, or adult
• Receive a formal warning from the adult (yellow level behaviour)
• Be sent off or substituted (orange level behaviour)
• Be suspended from football (red level behaviour) and be at risk of not being selected for the school team
• Have a long-term football ban (multiple red level behaviours over time)
• An adult will make my parent or carer aware of any violations of the Football Agreement
AS A SPECTATOR I WILL:
• Remember that at school we play for FUN
• Applaud effort and good play as well as success
• Respect the adult’s decisions even if I don’t agree with them
• Appreciate good play from whatever team it comes from
• Remain outside the cage area or off of the pitch
• Not confuse the players by telling them what to do
• Encourage the players to show respect
• Support positively and offer players encouragement not criticism
• Not engage in offensive, insulting or abusive language or behaviour
I understand that if I do not follow the agreement, any or all of the following actions may be taken:
I MAY BE, in line with our behaviour policy:
• Issued with a warning from an adult (yellow level behaviour)
• Asked to leave the area around the cages / football pitch
• At risk of losing the opportunity to play in the next match.
THE ADULTS WILL:
• Place the well-being, safety and enjoyment of each player above everything, including winning
• Never engage in or tolerate any form of disrespectful behaviour
• Encourage each player to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance
• Ensure all activities that are organised are appropriate for the players’ ability level and age
